Appearance: Emeraldstar is a rather small, jet black she-cat. As far as fur length goes, her fur is on the shorter side. Her eyes are most definitely her most defining feature as they are a very vibrant emerald green. They stand out in contrast to her jet black fur and are rather large considering her small size.
Personality: A relatively quiet cat, Emeraldstar is known to keep to herself. While she is not rude, she does not always go out of her way to start conversation. Despite this outwardly shy demeanor, she is extremely caring and fiercely loyal. If any cat has a long enough conversation with her, they will discover her great sense of humor. She always likes to keep things light if she can, which upsets some of her clan at times. At gatherings, she is known to keep rather quiet. Although she is overall a very calm cat, Emeraldstar is always ready to fight to the death for her clan.
Important History: Emeraldkit was, as far as she knows, an only kit. Her mother, Graystream, died shortly after giving birth to her. She was taken in by one of the other queens, who had lost her kits jut the day before. A very happy kit, she was always running about and had a habit of sneaking into the leaders den. The Shadowclan leader at the time, Skystar, thought it funny for the most part, and did not often scold her too harshly for it.
When Emeraldkit became Emeraldpaw, she was apprenticed to one of the oldest Shadowclan warriors. A very wise and respected cat, her mentor taught her a great deal about not only fighting and strategy, but loyalty and bravery. Unfortunately, Emeraldpaw's mentor was found dead by the side of the Thunderpath one day. This event forced Emeraldpaw to grow up even faster, as she had been extremely close to her mentor. Later, she finished her apprenticeship with the Shadowvlan Deputy at the time, who had another apprentice as well.
After moons of hard work, Emeraldpaw became Emeraldshine. Skystar later told her that her name would represent the fact that her loyalty and bravery would always be evident through her shining emerald eyes. It did not take very long for Emeraldshine to get her first apprentice, Cloudpaw. They became quite close and Cloudpaw soon became a great warrior. Moons later, the clans deputy was killed and found almost exactly where Emeraldshines former mentor had been found. Most cats thought it just to be another accident, but Emeraldshine investigated more, against her leaders orders. She did not find anything though, although the idea of it not being an accident still nags her. After the next deputy resigned, Emeraldshine was appointed to the position.
As Shadowclan deputy, Emeraldshine apprenticed another cat by the name of Darkpaw. Darkpaw was later killed in his first battle, as he decided to try to run instead of fight and was ambushed deep in the forest. Skystar was injured in this same battle and later died of his wounds. Before he died, he told Emeraldshine that she had been destined to be a leader. In his last breath, Skystar tried to tell her something else, but was taken to Starclan before he could finish his thought.
As leader, Emeraldstar has tried her best to keep up a good status with the other clans. She is known to be fair and reasonable, so they have not had too many problems. The only issues have been hat of border markers. And even then, she has been able to avoid most conflict.
